We arrived from El Jadida in a shared taxi - "shared" being the operative word - my wife and I squeezed into the back of an old Mercedes with two friendly ladies in burkas.
Out of town the landscape ranged from horror-show industrial (much of the coast ruined by petro chemical plants and a monstrous transportation port) to charmingly bucolic (boys riding donkeys carrying huge piles of carrots and cauliflowers from roadside fields). The coast where Ouilidia is situated has a deep, shapely lagoon and kilometres of lonely dune lined, white sandy beaches.
A quiet day was spent at this very pretty seaside town on the Atlantic Coast.
Our room faces the beach and out over a colourful assortment of fishing boats.
No points for guessing what we had for lunch
Tomorrow on to Essaouira.
